eBay search builder
Type what you’re after, tick what to leave out, and copy one line that works in eBay’s search box. Each word it leaves out says why it’s there.
Your search
The link opens Buy It Now listings, newly listed first. InstaSnipe reads the same line, so you can paste it in as a saved search.
How to leave words out of an eBay search
Put a minus sign right in front of the word, with no space: sterling -plated finds sterling listings that don’t say “plated”. Brackets with commas match any one of the words inside, and quotes keep words together as a phrase.
| You type | It finds listings that | For example |
|---|---|---|
sterling spoon | have every word | sterling spoon |
-plated | don’t have the word. The minus goes right against it. | sterling spoon -plated |
(fork, spoon) | have any one of the words in the brackets | sterling (fork, spoon) |
"rose gold" | have the words together, in that order | "rose gold" ring |
Tips
- A minus word drops every listing that says it, even one that says “not plated”. Leave out only what you’d never buy.
- Keep the words it must have to a few. Each one is another word a seller has to use in the title.
- Search Buy It Now, newly listed first, so the newest listings are at the top.
- To hear about new matches, save the search on eBay and turn on its alerts. Our guide to new-listing alerts covers how, and how often they come.
